Finance Associate

Maxem is scaling and so is our finance team. We are looking for a Finance Associate who wants to make an impact in a high-growth, international environment. We are dedicated to building a world where we can be proud of the heritage we leave behind for our future generations. Therefore we have developed our own platform called the Maxem Energy Cloud. This all-in-one platform connects and manages electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations, (stationary) batteries and solar energy in order to optimize energy usage. It can also address limitations in grid connections that can hinder the electrification of a company’s car park, thereby enabling more businesses to transition to a fully electric fleet.

What you want to know about this role

As a Finance Associate, you will be part of a finance team of three, you sit next to the Financial Controller and you report directly to the CFO. This means you see everything from bank reconciliations to board reporting. You act as a first point of contact to internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our financial operations. What does this mean in practice?

You won't be doing all of this on your own from day one. We'll train you into it.

• Take on several financial processes (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations), ensuring they run efficiently and accurately.

• Maintain our subscriptions administration.

• Perform assigned month-end tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the close calendar.

• Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, depreciation).

• Serve as a point of contact for finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate and timely responses.

What do you bring to the table?

• You have graduated recently from your HBO accounting & control or comparable studies, or you have 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.

• You keep sustainability close to your heart.

• You are a self-starter who takes ownership and follows through without needing close supervision.

• You have exceptional attention to detail — you spot errors before they become problems.

• You are a collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.

• Having experience with Exact Online is a plus.

• For this role, it’s important that you are fluent in Dutch and/or English, spoken and written.
