Financial Controller

Maxem is scaling rapidly and so is our finance team. We are looking for a Financial Controller who wants to make an impact in a high-growth, international environment. You will be key in shaping the future of finance at Maxem, assuring Maxem is and remains compliant and shaping and setting up financial processes. You will report directly to the Head of Finance.

This all-in-one platform connects and manages electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations, (stationary) batteries and solar energy in order to optimize energy usage. It also addresses limitations in grid connections that can hinder the electrification of a company’s car park, thereby enabling more businesses to transition to a fully electric fleet.

What you want to know about this role

As Financial Controller, you report into and work closely with our Head of Finance. You take ownership of reporting the monthly and yearly numbers on time and in line with local GAAP requirements. You will also be a financial educator on how things should be done within the organization.

What does this mean in practice?

• You will manage and improve the end to end month-end close process in order to provide accurate numbers to the Head of Finance.

• Draft and implement financial processes (Source2Pay, Order2Cash, Record2Report).

• Be responsible for compliance across the board (VAT, CIT, CBS, etc.).

• Make sure day-to-day finance keeps going.

• Coach the Finance Associate to progress to the next level.

What do you bring to the table?

• You have 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Financial Controller and a strong technical finance background.

• You have been responsible for the month-end and year-end close process, or parts of this, before.

• You understand how the month-end close process affects the results.

• You are familiar with NL GAAP requirements.

• You have an appetite to create structure in a dynamic company and are able to communicate clearly about the implementation of processes in order to establish this.

• You are familiar with VAT, CIT and other compliance requirements (e.g. CBS) and have filed these before.

• You enjoy working in a team and making the team perform better.

• Having experience in a tech (SaaS) environment is a plus.

• Having experience with Exact Online and/or ERP implementation is a plus. 

• For this role, it’s important that you are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
